Sea Staring by Liz Gregg - Opening Night

On the opening day of Liz Gregg's photographic installation 'Sea Staring' we invite you to view the photographs in situ on the sea front in Herne Bay at 4.30pm. 

Jo Oakley will be hosting sponsors and guests in the gallery at 'She Rose' from 6.30pm. This is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the continued effort of Herne Bay's creative community to bring art in many formats to Herne Bay. If you would like to come to 'She Rose' on the evening please can we ask you to RSVP so that we have an idea of numbers. 

She Rose will be displaying the photogrpahic images in a smaller format within the gallery and there will be an opportunity to purchase one of these 11.5cm x 11.5cm images in a 27cm x 27cm frame. 

The images were taken by Photographer Liz Gregg throughout October 2021.  The aim was to take a photo looking out to sea from Herne Bay every day for one calendar month.  The only requirement was to include a straight horizon running through the middle of each shot.  Liz kept most images very minimalist, the sky and the sea just providing a wash of changing colours dictated by the time of day and weather.  While some are peppered with points of interest, details that the viewer would need to search to find; there’s boats, buoys, birds, wind turbines, Herne Bay landmarks.
