"Salsify" painted in early Spring 2024 by Jo Oakley.
Jo has said that she really thinks that The Downs in Herne Bay are Kent's best kept secret. It is absolutely glorious as the Spring starts to take hold with anticipation of so many treats. 'Salsify' is one of them, this charming purple flower has a finale of Pom Pom dandelion like fluff, their root is edible and is delicious. This painting is my homage to this little plant.
